V.I.P. PASS FOR BRAVO

It's a show which knows it's a TV series, and occasionally the in-jokes are too in-your-face to be anywhere near subtle. But after Sky One's bemusing attitude to their screening of the show, Bravo have decided to take on VIP. And all four seasons and 88 episodes-worth!

Pamela Anderson Lee plays Vallery Irons, a small-town girl who accidentally winds up being a action film star’s bodyguard. When a gunman threatens the star, Brad Cliff, Vallery rescues the cowardly hunk. To maintain his cred, there’s only one answer - pretend she’s his bodyguard. This one event propels her into becoming the figurehead for a struggling bodyguard agency, which becomes known as Vallery Irons Protection, or VIP for short. Shades of Remington Steele, except in reverse!

As the head of the Beverly Hills-based agency, Vallery’s face is splashed across the cover of every glossy mag around. But despite living the sunshine and suntan California celebrity lifestyle, at heart she is just a chancer thrown into the dangerous world of bodyguarding. Fortunate then, that she’s got a team of real pros behind her to save her bacon.

Pam’s co-stars are a mix of models and real-life weapons experts. Molly Culver stars as Tasha Dexter, a female James Bond, who is everything that Vallery is just pretending to be. Then there’s Quick Williams as Shaun Baker - a gun guru, Nikki Franco as Natalie Raitano - a hip hop heroine full of energy (it says here), Kay Eugenia Simmons as Leah Lail - the computer wizard, and Angelle Brooks as Maxine - Val's hot dog selling mentor. Dustin Nguyen plays Johnny Loh, who makes a guest appearance in Season One before become a regular from Season Two onwards. Finally, in later seasons look out for Gerry Anderson as Relic, who is in fact Pam's real-life brother, and should not be confused with the British animation producer of the same name!

Taking guest roles are such stars as Patrick Kilpatrick, 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin, Alex Hyde-White, Verne Troyer, Ice-T, Katarina Witt, Tom Arnold, Tommy Lee, Ray Wise, Corbin Bernsen, Yasmine Bleeth, Morgan Brittany, Stephanie Zimbalist, plus Loni Anderson as Val's mother, Lee Majors as Val's father and Mark Hamill as her Uncle Ned.

Special guest cameos - these folk actually playing themselves - are provided by the likes of George Takei, Pauly Shore, Bill Maher, Hugh Hefner, Jay Leno, Coolio, Jerry Springer, Doctor Joyce Brothers, Shannon Tweed, Erik Estrada, David Chokachi, Morgan Fairchild, Tyler Mane, Donny and Marie Osmond, Bronson Pinchot, Dean Haglund, Engelbert Humperdinck, Weird Al Yankovic and Stephen J Cannell. Of special note is the episode "All You Need is Val" which features uncredited appearances by The B-52s, Paul McCartney, Sarah MacLachlan, Rosanna Arquette, Chrissie Hynde and Dan Matthews.

Bravo will be screening VIP weekdays 9.00am and 4.30pm, from Monday 7th July, and at weekends at 9.55am and 4.30pm from Saturday 5th July.
